Senior Leadership Team

Chief Executive

Mike Ettling was appointed Chief Executive for NorthgateArinso (NGA) on 1 February 2009, responsible for leading and growing one of the leading global HR Services businesses.

NGA has recently achieved unprecedented growth as companies from around the globe come to value the services NGA provides in the areas of Software Development and Services, Systems Integration, Human Resource (HR) Outsourcing and Business Consulting. Recently, NGA has made a strategic leap forward with the solid transition of acquisitions and greater US market penetration.

NGA has recently been acknowledged by Gartner, IDC and Everest research as a leading global provider of HR solutions and services, ahead of their major competitors.

Prior to joining NorthgateArinso, Mr Ettling was VP and General Manager, Global BPO Strategy and Operations for Unisys and for Global Outsourcing and Infrastructure Services, Continental Europe. Mr. Ettling held various executive roles in Unisys including Managing Director Australia & New Zealand and VP of Outsourcing for Asia Pacific.

Mr Ettling has previously led a private equity venture, Synstar International PLC where he was Managing Director and an Executive director of the board. He has an extensive career in Business Process Outsourcing and IT outsourcing having previously held senior executive roles with EDS in EMEA.   

Mr Ettling has focussed on integrating the various acquisitions which NGA has undertaken and building a world class operating model to position the business as the ideal partner for multinational companies. Over the last year he has assembled a highly talented leadership team with over 100 years of experience in the HR Services industry.   

As world economies are now improving his attention has turned to driving sustainable and profitable growth. NGA has experienced landmark wins over the last 12 months with deals such as General Electric, Fifth Third Bank, Lloyds Banking Group and Astra Zeneca.

Mr. Ettling’s earlier career was in his native South Africa. He holds a Masters in Finance from the London Business School, UK, is a graduate of the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa, and a member of the South African and English Institutes of Chartered Accountants. He is based in the UK and Atlanta, USA.

COO

Paul Hutchison is responsible for managing outsourcing delivery and service delivery globally, as well as developing new standards of delivery excellence across the business and regions. This role is significant as it involves the integration of people, processes and technology following NorthgateArinso’s recent acquisition of the HRM division of Convergys.

Hutchison joined NorthgateArinso with more than 22 years’ experience in the business process outsourcing and human resource outsourcing industries. He most recently served as Global Client Executive for HR Outsourcing at IBM where he was responsible for driving customer satisfaction through improved relationship and delivery management. Prior to this role, he was Global Delivery Executive where he was responsible for the overall management of global delivery operations for the HRO business. Prior to that, Hutchison managed multi-functional HR service centers in Costa Rica, Argentina, Brazil, Canada and the United States.

President Europe & Latin America

Kobe Verdonck was appointed Executive Regional Director Europe and LatAm in June 2007. In this position he oversees 22 countries, servicing in 40 countries. Kobe was appointed regional director for the Nordics & Central Europe in 2006. In this capacity he oversaw operations in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Austria and Switzerland.

Kobe started the Swiss and Austrian operations (respectively in 2003 and 2005). Previously he had been managing major integration and outsourcing projects for NorthgateArinso all over Europe and Africa.

Before joining NorthgateArinso in 1999 Kobe worked as a lawyer for the International Law firm Stibbe in Brussels, Belgium. From 1996 to 1998 Kobe was responsible for the start-up of a local bank in Tanzania. Kobe holds a Master degree in Law and a degree in Business Administration.

Global Finance Director

Michael trained as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse before leaving to join a client Hoffman La Roche. At Roche he held a number of roles in both the UK and Switzerland as a result of a 2 year international assignment. This involved the financial management of a global co-marketing and manufacturing agreement with a US biotech partner.

On returning to London he joined BT where he specialised in M&A and was involved in a number of transactions and restructuring activities.

Michael joined NorthgateArinso in January 2005 as the UK Financial Director with responsibility for the finance and legal teams in the HR business covering the UK, Ireland, South Africa and Pro IV in the USA. He was appointed Global Finance Director on 1 May 2010.

Brad Everett
VP Strategy, Marketing & Portfolio Management

Brad joined NorthgateArinso in 2010 as VP Marketing & Portfolio Management. In his current role, Brad focuses on informing the market about our global strategic offerings. He has an extensive industry experience. Most recently, he led the HR practice for Equaterra in North America where he was responsible for business development, client delivery, channel relationship management, staff development and management. Prior to that, Brad was responsible for strategy, design and marketing for the HR products of ACS.

From 2003 to 2005, Brad was holding the position of President of Arinso International US, leading US operations with respect to full HRO and integration services.

Previous positions also include Senior Vice President – Client Services, US internetworking Inc., CO President/COO,  Groundswell Inc., Global COO, The Hunter Group, Vice President -Professional Services, Walker Interactive Systems, Senior Manager, Price Waterhouse & Co.

Brad holds a BS Business Administration from Old Dominion University at Norfolk, Virginia and is a CPA.

President North America

Samuel V. “Trey” Campbell joined NorthgateArinso as President NorthgateArinso North America in September 2009.  In this role, Campbell leads all management and operational activities for NorthgateArinso in both North and South America.

Trey has extensive experience in Business Process Outsourcing, particularly in the areas of HR Outsourcing (HRO) and related technology services.  He joins NorthgateArinso from Accenture, where he was President and CEO of Accenture BPO Services, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Accenture LLP, the $23B global consulting, technology services and outsourcing company.  

Prior to joining Accenture, Trey was Business Unit Leader for Hewitt Associates, managing a large portfolio of strategic HRO accounts.  Previous roles include Vice President and Portfolio Executive for Exult, Inc., VP and GM, Sales and Marketing - Exult, Group Vice President, Outsourcing Services for Spherion Corporation, and Director of Strategic Sales for PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Global Business Process Outsourcing practice.  He holds a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Alabama and an MBA in Finance from the Gatton Business School at the University of Kentucky.

Trey lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife and two children.

President APMEA
Gery Messer is NGA's President for Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa . Messer spearheads NGA's growth in the region and has responsibility for all aspects of the company’s APMEA operations including sales, marketing, R&D and customer service. Messer has a wealth of high-tech and consulting expertise and business leadership skills and he has spent the last 25 years working in a number of key leadership roles building and directing businesses for global companies across Europe and Asia Pacific including Red Hat, EMC, Deloitte, SAP and IBM.

Prior to joining NGA, Messer was in charge of Red Hat’s operations in Asia Pacific and growing Red Hat’s presence in the region. Before that, Gery was a Vice President for EMC Asia Pacific. Between 1996 and 2002, Gery served as the President and Regional Managing Director of Deloitte Consulting Korea and before that as Managing Partner of South East Asia and the Technology Practice (ERP) in the region. Gery moved to Asia in 1993, when he was at SAP launching and building SAP's client/server software business within the Asia Pacific region. He also successfully founded and launched the SAP operation in Korea. He began his IT career in Switzerland working at IBM in sales and marketing.

Gery holds an MBA (lic. rer. pol) from the University of Berne in Switzerland where he majored in Science of Industrial Management. Gery is based at NGA's APMEA headquarters in Singapore, and has been working in the region for 18 years.
President UK & Ireland

Simon Caunce has been with Northgate for 10 years. He initially joined as Sales Manager when the UK human resources division turned over less than 10m pounds. He has achieved the equivalent of true north qualification every year of his Northgate career.

Vice President HR

Joe Kenny joined the team in March 2010 as NorthgateArinso Vice President of HR based out of the UK. In this global position he oversees 35 countries and 8,000 employees.

Joe joins us with extensive global HR experience both at a strategic and operational level. Most recently, Joe was HR VP for Sabre Holdings and lastminute.com and prior to this worked for Cisco Systems Ltd, Nortel Networks Ltd and ICL. Joe is a high energy transformational HR professional with a wealth of experience across different technology businesses.

Joe will lead our global HR teams to deliver a balanced integrated HR approach, working together to create an employee orientated high performance culture that emphasises empowerment, excellence, productivity and innovation across the globe.

He holds MA HRM from the University of Middlesex, London.

VP, Strategic Accounts

Peter Bouten currently holds the position of Strategic Accounts within NorthgateArinso, which he joined early 1999. Since the start of Peter’s career in the late eighties he has been working in the HR and Payroll domain, the latest at IBS (formerly known as Consist) where he held various positions.

Based on his leadership and extensive experience within the HR and payroll arena, he brought our Dutch organization to a higher level of operational excellence. With his thorough knowledge of the HR and IT market he succeeded to move NorthgateArinso into the HR BPO market as one of the top service providers in the Netherlands.  In the last years Peter has on a European level also been responsible for the Nordics and the DACH region.

Since end 2008 he is leading the consultancy organization. First on an EMEA level, currently at a global level. Peter is married and has 3 children living in the southern part of the Netherlands.

VP, Global HR Consulting

Roger Metelerkamp joined NorthgateArinso (NGA)  in January 2012, as Vice President, Global HR Consulting.  Based in Richmond UK, Roger leads our global consulting business and is accountable for transforming it to deliver market leading performance, a key strategic focus for NGA.

Roger brings a wealth of experience to NGA and has an outstanding track record of success in developing and managing consulting businesses and business transformation projects for major global organisations.  Over the past two years, Roger has led the global human capital management practice of Lodestone Management Consultants as well as leading the firm’s UK business. Prior to this, Roger had a successful career with the consultancy business that transitioned from PwC to IBM and then more recently has been a partner with KPMG. During this period, Roger led IBM’s Northern European Human Capital Management practice and KPMG’s global pharmaceutical advisory practice whilst also performing major projects with companies such as GSK, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Tesco, Diageo and BAT.

Roger leads our HRC organisation as NGA looks to serve the biggest blue chip companies globally, differentiating NGA’s offering in the market.

Roger has a Bachelor of Commerce qualification, majoring in Accounting, Business Computing and Economics, from the University of Natal, Durban.
